Join Emma Collett for an intensive unit in Formative Christian Teaching (DE045-812) that develops both a theology of Christian education and a practical understanding of Christian teaching in educational settings.
This unit will explore questions like:
● What is Christian education? What does it mean to teach Christianly?
● How does the gospel shape not just what we teach, but how and why we teach?
● In what ways are we being formed as teachers - and how are our students being formed?
● What does faithfulness look like in the everyday realities of classrooms, staff rooms, leadership and school communities?
● How do we teach Christianly amongst diverse personal beliefs?
This unit will be taught through:
1 hour Zoom session - 10 August, 7:30pm-8:30pm
6 x 2-hour mid-week classes in Terms 3 & 4 at Arden Anglican School
Term 3 - 17, 31 August & 14 Sept 5-7pm
Term 4 - 12, 19 & 26 October 5-7pm1 two-day intensive 28 & 29 September (9am-5pm)
The unit DE045-812 is fully accredited by the Australian University of Theology and is offered and postgraduate (AQF8) level.
Students can participate in the unit in 2 ways:

Audit & assessment student:
Full participation and assessments = AUD$1200
