Discipleship
We recognise that the fundamental requirement for Christian ministry is a deep and profound understanding of our identity in Christ, both as individuals and as a community of believers.
The formal learning program, which includes prayer groups, small groups and chapel, and informal relationships, provide opportunity for all members of the College community to develop as disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ. As we grow in a deeper understanding of God’s love for us, so we also grow in love for him.
We want to see people of all ages who, secure in their identity in Christ, and equipped, skilled, resourced and supported for the task, are ready and willing to serve the Lord in ministry with children, youth and families for the long term.
God's Spirit has gifted each of His people for service in His Kingdom. Youthworks College aims to be a place where you can grow and develop in ways that will release those gifts for effective service.
The Personal Life of Those in Ministry PC210
A central component in the formal study program of the College is the unit of study The Personal Life of Those in Ministry (PC210). More than just another requirement for graduation, the personal life unit of study has been a very significant time for students and staff to grow in relationship with each other as we deepen and strengthen our relationship with the Lord. Focussing on Christian spirituality, human personality and the particular issues facing ministry workers, the unit of study gives us opportunity to engage with one another as God’s people in temporary community, whether on tour in Queensland or gathered on campus in Loftus.
